Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 30 October 2019 – PETRONAS Lubricants Marketing Malaysia (PLMM), a subsidiary of PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB), together with PETRONAS Lubricant International (PLI) today hosted a media preview of a new range of its flagship motorcycles oils, PETRONAS Sprinta with UltraFlex™. Designed to react instantaneously to changing road and riding conditions, PETRONAS Sprinta with UltraFlex™ technology protects the bike’s critical areas and provide exceptional engine performance and longer bike life.
With growing traffic congestion and unpredictable road conditions, riders are always on alert to avoid untoward consequences. These intense riding conditions impose stress on bike engines and wear out moving parts quickly, impacting engine performance and power output. This not only affects safety and the riding experience, but can also be costly for bike owners.
Engineered to come alive, PETRONAS Sprinta with UltraFlex™ technology immediately reacts and delivers exceptional defence and performance for riders to get ahead. Its unique formulation responds instantly and flexibly to the multitude demands of the bike’s critical parts — the engine, clutch and gears. Even at high RPM, the lubricant maintains its film strength, sheer stability and viscosity, defending the engine against intense heat and thermal pressures. This allows riders to experience instant response to rapid acceleration, enjoying the exhilaration of leaning into road bends and corners.

“We are delighted to have tested the performance, efficiency and reliability of PETRONAS Sprinta with UltraFlex™ technology in MotoGP. In just a short time since the adoption of PETRONAS Sprinta at the Dutch GP in June, PETRONAS Yamaha Sepang Racing Team (SRT) has made significant strides, which, aside from the incredible performance of our riders and technical team, is also attributed to PETRONAS Sprinta.
“Today, we are pleased to give you a preview of this enhanced formulation engineered to let bikes and riders come alive and fulfil their best potential, even in the most demanding riding conditions,” said Aadrin Azly, PDB’s Chief Operating Officer. PETRONAS is the Title and Technical Partner to PETRONAS Yamaha SRT, furthering its commitment to bring the latest track-to-road technology to consumers with the most advanced motorcycle lubricants to-date. In line with PETRONAS’ vision towards a more sustainable future, the new PETRONAS Sprinta with Ultraflex™ reflects the company’s serious commitment to invest in research and technology, and push the limits of its technological capabilities.
“This new range of oils is designed to meet the latest and most stringent global environmental standards to take effect in 2020, such as the Euro 5 and Bharat Stage (BS) VI requirements. This translates into upgraded two-wheeler hardware that will overall improve and enhance engine management and efficiency, as well as lower CO2 emission,” said PLI Chief Technology Officer, Eric Holthusen.
The new PETRONAS Sprinta with UltraFlex™ range is priced between RM15-RM67 per bottle and will hit the shelves of PETRONAS Mesra stores and PETRONAS Partner Workshops from mid-November. It will be made available globally in phases starting with India and Thailand in Q1 2020, followed by Indonesia, Vietnam and other countries.
