Santena (Turin), 2024 – PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) is proud to announce its sponsorship and participation in the 2024 Turin Motor Show, set to take place from 13-15th September, on the streets of the automotive capital of Italy.
The event returns after a 5-year hiatus in a renewed format, featuring iconic cars and engineering masterpieces in an open-air exhibition in Turin’s vibrant city centre. Major automotive companies will be in attendance alongside PLI, allowing attendees to watch test drives and rides on dynamic tracks. Cultural and entertainment events will also take place throughout the weekend to bring the city’s local values and traditions to life.
Although PLI EMEA is headquartered in Turin, this year, whilst celebrating its 50th anniversary, is the first time the company is supporting an internationally renowned event, held in its own territory. PLI’s sponsorship and participation in the 2024 Turin Motor Show furthers its commitment to supporting and enhancing the local community. PLI has operated in Turin since 1912, as the Lubricant Division of the Fiat Group and has many iterations over the last century, spanning Fiat Lubrificanti in the 1970s and FL Selenia in 2000, before joining PETRONAS in 2008.
In addition to being a first-time sponsor of the show, PLI will take part in several initiatives spanning racing, engineering lubricants, and much more. All events and participation come together to enforce PLI’s drive for progress and passion to make a positive impact on people and the planet alike.

PLI will present an overview of its activities in the world of motor racing throughout the event. The public will have the opportunity to see the Formula 1 car of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team up close, and will be able to discover the decisive role of fluids in achieving extraordinary successes. The PETRONAS Syntium lubricant technology, used by the team, contributed to their success in winning the FIA Formula1 world constructors' championship 8 times.
Among the innovations present in the sector of fluids for electric vehicles (EV), PLI will also feature the PETRONAS Iona range, which confirms the company's role as a pioneer in the transition towards sustainable mobility. The company has many sustainability goals, including achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 though sustainability has long been intrinsic to PLI. In 1992, the company launched the ZIT (Zero Impact Trend) project to highlight the contribution of lubricants in reducing emissions. PLI has continued to push progress since then, creating an NEV Business Unit dedicated entirely to fluids for electric vehicles in 2023, making the reality of a sustainable future achievable here and now.
